The construction of the Faculty of Engineering building began in 1989, and in 1992 the Faculty was officially inaugurated with a total floor area of 12,900 square meters. As part of the Faculty’s development plan, an expansion phase was initiated in 2008, during which a new classroom wing with a floor area of 2,850 square meters was added to the original building. In 2017, the buildings of the Faculty of Art and Architecture (Phase I, with a floor area of 6,720 square meters) and the Faculty of Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering (with a floor area of 5,400 square meters) were completed and became operational.

Since the first semester of the 2016–2017 academic year, the Departments of Architectural Engineering and Archaeology have been located in the Faculty of Art and Architecture building, while the Department of Chemical Engineering has been based in the Faculty of Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering building. Furthermore, since the first semester of the 2017–2018 academic year, the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering have been relocated to the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering building.

At present, the general facilities of the Faculty of Engineering include separate study halls for male and female students, an amphitheater, an audiovisual hall, workshop complexes, laboratory spaces, computer labs (located in both the main Engineering building and the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering), and expanded classroom facilities.

In addition to undergraduate programs, the Faculty offers Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Architectural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials and Textile Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

So far, the Faculty has enrolled more than 3000 Iranian students bedides 100 international students pursuing postgraduate studies.

Drawing on the expertise and scholarly strengths of its faculty members across these disciplines, the Faculty of Engineering plays a significant role in educating highly skilled professionals and conducting collaborative industrial research projects.
