Razi University

The Department of Library and Information Science started its activities in the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Razi University in 1996 by admitting students for the Associate Degree of Librarianship. In 2005, the Department started admitting students at the undergraduate level in Librarianship and Information Science in which 42 students were enrolled. Two years later, the evening courses were also added to the courses offered in the Department. Since 2009, the Department has joined the Faculty of Social Sciences.  

Since 2014, thanks to the continuous efforts of the faculty members, the master's degree in Information Science and Epistemology has been also offered in the Department. The first master's program in Information Science and Epistemology- Information Management was started in October 2014 with the admission of 9 students.
