The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Razi University was established in 1992, and its first students were admitted to the Solid Mechanics program. Since then, the department has educated approximately 2,500 students across various fields and degree levels. In 2022, the Department enrolled 270 undergraduate mechanical engineering students and 120 graduate students at the master’s and doctoral levels in the two areas of Applied Mechanics and Energy Conversion.
At present, the Department benefits from the expertise and experience of 11 full-time faculty members. In addition to educational laboratories and workshops in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, dynamics and vibrations, hydraulics and pneumatics, machine tools, auto mechanics, welding, and sheet metal working, the Department also offers several research laboratories. These include facilities for simulation and modeling, energy, impact and composites, metal forming, thermo-physical properties of solids, and applied heat transfer and thermodynamics. Together, these resources provide a supportive environment for students’ education and the development of engineering skills.
