The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 1994, initially admitting students to its BSc program in Civil Engineering. The Department has five educational laboratories and workshops, including the Mechanics of Materials Laboratory, Soil Mechanics Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics Laboratory, and Concrete Technology Laboratory. It also hosts three research laboratories: Structural and Materials Engineering, Advanced Geotechnical and Road Pavement Engineering, and Advanced Water Engineering and Hydraulics. The Department is also open to international students at the graduate level. With the knowledge and expertise of its faculty members, the Department of Civil Engineering has made significant contributions to training highly skilled national specialists and conducting research and projects in the western region of Iran.
