Razi University welcomed a high-ranking delegation from Al Iraqia University of Baghdad in a joint meeting aimed at deepening academic and cultural ties between the two institutions.
Regional Significance & Institutional Strength
Dr. Jamal Fathollahi, President of Razi University, highlighted the university’s integral role within Kermanshah—which represents around 2.4% of Iran’s population—and noted that of the 60,000 students in the province, 12,000 are enrolled at Razi University across 14 faculties and 54 academic departments. He emphasized that among Iran’s 64 comprehensive universities, Razi University is ranked eighth according to the latest Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) assessment.

Dr. Fathollahi praised Al Iraqia University for its distinguished standing in Iraq, consistently ranking among Baghdad’s top two universities in national evaluations. Prof. Ali Saleh Hussein, President of Al Iraqia University, affirmed his institution’s readiness and eagerness to expedite the signing of a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and initiate collaborative activities. He added that Al Iraqia hosts approximately 21,000 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students across 10 faculties and has already secured numerous international partnerships .

The MoU—currently activated—will establish frameworks for student exchange, joint classes, cultural and athletic initiatives, and research collaboration.
