Razi University

The director of the International Scientific Cooperation Office of Razi University announced that RU has been given a permit to establish a Persian language teaching center for non-Persian speaking students.
Shahab Moradkhani mentioned that RU has been admitting non-Iranian students since 2005. He stated, "The Persian language teaching center has been active since then, but it did not have an official permission from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology."
The Head of non-Iranian students of Razi University added, "On the other hand, there was no independent space for this center, and Persian language classes  were held in the faculty of literature and humanities for non-Persian students in cooperation with the department of Persian language and literature, Arabic language and literature, and English language and English literature.
He stated that Persian language teaching center in Razi University did not have an independent identity of its own, and added, " Since the beginning of this year, one of my work priorities has been to equip the center and then apply for a permit from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology with the support of the university authorities."
Dr. Moradkhani pointed out, "As the first step, we devoted five independent classes to the Persian language teaching center, which has the most up-to-date language teaching facilities, also available in the most prestigious language schools in the country."
He clarified, "In the next stage, we had discussions with the officials of the Ministry of Science. During the visit of the Head of the Student Affairs Organization and the General Director of International Student Affairs of the Ministry of Science to Razi University, they also visited this center, and finally, the official permit of this center was approved and issued during recent days."
Dr Moradkhani further stated that every hour, about 100 non-Persian speaking students can be present in these classes at the same time and announced,  "This center is under the supervision of a professional team consisting of faculty members of the department of Arabic language and literature, Persian language and literature and English language and literature."
The director of International Scientific Cooperation Office of Razi University stated that the Persian language teaching in this center is offered in the form of two introductory and strength courses. He said "The introductory course is for students who want to start studying in Iran and learn the Persian language along with their studies."
Dr. Moradkhani continued, "After the introductory course, the students who pass the course have reached a level of language proficiency that can meet their needs inside and outside the university without the help of a translator".
He stated that in the strength course, the students who have reached the intermediate level are also trained to reach the advanced level in order to facilitate the completion of the thesis. He announced, "The teaching time of each of these two courses will be about 250 hours."
In the end, Dr. Moradkhani stated that this center is the first center for teaching Persian language to non-Persian speaking students among the universities of Kermanshah province, which has been granted a permit by the Ministry of Science, and noted, "We are ready to teach non-Persian speaking students in the universities of the province as well as universities of neighboring provinces."
