Department of Water Engineering
The department of Water Engineering of RU first began to offer bachelor's programs in 1992 – well before launching Master's programs of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and Water Structures Engineering, in 2006, 2008, and 2012, respectively. Additionally, PhD programs in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering and in Water Structures Engineering began to be offered in 2011 and 2012. The active laboratories of the department include Irrigation and Drainage, Mapping and Interpretation of Aerial Photos, Water Quality, Meteorology, Soil Mechanics, Hydro-informatics, Hydraulics, Hydroponics and Hydraulic-Physical Models. The department, also, has four research farms (each with 600 square meters of land), 3 Lysimeter Stations (each with 120 square meters of land), one automatic meteorology station, a research greenhouse and two independent computer sites for undergraduate and graduate students.
