Department of Mechanical Engineering of Biosystem
The Department of Biosystems Mechanical Engineering (formerly known as the Department of Agricultural Machinery Mechanics) was established in 2005 at the Campus of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Department launched its Master’s program in 2010 and currently admits students to both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs.

In 2013, following reforms introduced by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the discipline of Biosystems Mechanical Engineering was restructured into three specialized branches:

  • Design of Agricultural Machinery
  • Post-Harvest Technology
  • Renewable Energy Systems

Graduates of these specializations are prepared for the following professional roles:

Design of Agricultural Machinery
  • Design engineer in factories and industrial workshops engaged in the development and production of tractors, agricultural implements, and farm machinery
  • Agricultural machinery specialist responsible for the management, maintenance, and repair of equipment in agricultural enterprises, agro-industrial complexes, and related institutions
  • Educator in agricultural technical high schools and contributor to research and engineering activities in research centers and academic institutions
Post-Harvest Technology
  • Specialist in the design and development of machinery and equipment for food processing and agricultural product handling industries
  • Technical supervisor or production line assistant in food processing and agro-industrial factories
  • Expert in planning, system design, and development of processing lines and industrial systems within the food and agricultural processing sectors
Renewable Energies
  • Engineer specializing in the design and development of renewable energy systems
  • Researcher and educator in renewable energy technologies
  • Specialist in the design and implementation of renewable energy exploitation systems
Degrees offered:
BSc: Design of Agricultural Machinery
MSc: Design of Agricultural Machinery, Post-Harvest Technology, Renewable Energies
