Razi University

Department of Library and Information Science started its activities in the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Razi University in 1996 by admitting students for Associate Degree of Librarianship. In 2005, the Department started admitting students at undergraduate level in Librarianship and Information Science in which 42 students were enrolled. Two years later, the evening courses were also added to the courses offered in this department. It is worth noting that since 2009, the department has been active as a department in the Faculty of Social Sciences.  
Since 2014, thanks to the continuous efforts of the faculty members, master's degree in Information Science and Epistemology has been also offered in this department. The first master's program in Information Science and Epistemology- Information Management was started in October 2014 with admission of 9 students.
