The field of Sports Pathology and Corrective Exercises encompasses a body of scientific findings in the areas of sports pathology, corrective exercises, prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries, adapted physical education, and adapted sports. The objective of establishing this program is to train passionate and specialized individuals who can strive to enhance the physical and mental health—as well as improve the movement and sports performance—of their clients through education, research, planning, guidance, counseling, coaching, and the provision of sports services. The target population includes a wide range of individuals: those suffering from physical and movement abnormalities/disorders that deviate from health norms; participants in recreational and competitive physical activities who are at risk of injury; and individuals with physical, intellectual, or behavioral disabilities who fall below standard health norms and are identified as disabled, ill, or impaired.
In the Motor Learning and Control track, the field of Motor Behavior emphasizes processes related to learning, acquisition, and refinement of motor skills, as well as the variables affecting their acquisition and the underlying neural, physiological, and behavioral mechanisms of human movement. The Motor Development track focuses on the study of developmental and functional aspects of movement across the lifespan—from the early movements of infants and children to those of adults and the elderly. This program includes the pathology of motor development regarding the internal and external factors affecting growth. The goal of postgraduate programs (MSc and PhD) in this field is to train experts in motor learning, motor control, and motor development, as well as physical education. These graduates are equipped to engage in education, planning, implementation, counseling, guidance, and research with creativity, innovation, and an entrepreneurial mindset, allowing them to operate effectively in scientific and professional environments and to professionally manage issues related to this field by bridging the gap between academia, industry, and society.
