Razi University

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – formerly known as Veterinary Medical College - was founded in 1992, initially admitting students for associate's degree of Veterinary Medicine. This was followed by the establishment of the discontinuous bachelor's degree of Veterinary Laboratory Sciences at the Veterinary Medical College in 2002. Finally, in 2007, the Veterinary Medical Collage was promoted and began to go by the title of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Razi University by obtaining the license to admit students in Veterinary Medicine at doctoral level. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine now admits students for programs in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM),  BSc in Veterinary Laboratory Sciences, and MSc in Quality Control, Food Hygiene, and Midwifery Assistant, Veterinary Reproductive Diseases. The buildings of the faculty make 7000 square meter of space and the educational facilities include classes for theoretical education, educational and diagnostic laboratories of Biochemistry, Physiology and Pharmacology, Bacteriology and Mycology, Immunology and Virology, Parasitology, Histology, Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Hygiene and Food Quality Control of Food and the Aquatic, as well as the Central Lab, Specialized Room of Anatomy, and Specialized Veterinary Clinic (offering services, education, and research). Veterinary Sciences is taught theoretically, clinically, and in laboratories, and the courses are being offered by the departments of Basic Sciences, Pathobiology, Hygiene and Quality Control of Food and the Aquatic, and Clinical Sciences. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine currently has 22 faculty members - 3 associate and 18 assistant professors – and 7 assistants supporting professors in the process of teaching.
