Biography

Arash Azari is an associate professor in the Department of Water Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering, Razi University of Kermanshah. He was born on March 1, 1977 and holds a PhD in Hydrology and Water Resources from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. His PhD thesis, titled "Multi-objective Simulation-Optimization for Integrated Management of Surface and Groundwater Resources Using NSGA-II Algorithm", focused on developing new methods for decision-making and integrated water resources management. He has been a faculty member at Razi University since 2005 and has a continuous teaching experience at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. His teaching areas include analysis and planning of water resources systems, advanced hydrology, groundwater, stochastic and probabilistic methods in hydrology, optimization in water resources, GIS and remote sensing, hydrometeorology, and new technologies in water resources.
His main areas of research include optimization and artificial intelligence in water resources management, hydrological and climate modeling, quantitative and qualitative groundwater modeling, integrated exploitation of surface and groundwater resources, water resource systems analysis, water pollution and quality, and the application of GIS and remote sensing data. He has published more than 72 ISI and scientific research articles in reputable national and international journals.
He has a history of implementing numerous research and applied projects in the fields of renewable energy, hydrology, groundwater, floods, and GIS, and has supervised and advised dozens of PhD and MSc theses in the fields of optimization, climate change, flood forecasting, water resources modeling, and remote sensing. His other scientific and executive background includes professional collaboration with consulting engineering firms and executive organizations in dam construction projects, water resources planning, irrigation and drainage networks, flood studies, and water resources management. By combining numerical modeling approaches, intelligent methods, and satellite data, he has focused his research on providing scientific and practical solutions for sustainable water resources management, reducing hydrological risks, and improving water productivity in the agricultural and environmental sectors.
