Department of Biological Sciences in Sports

The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences was established in the Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences in 1994 and started admitting undergraduate students. Since 1996, the physical education department has been also admitting students in the master's level.
In February 1998, the department of physical education was separated from the Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences and promoted to the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, but it was still located in the building of the Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences until it was completely separated from the Faculty of Literature in 2003 and transferred to the campus of Razi University. In 2005, the Physical Education: General Program was replaced by Pathology and Corrective Exercises Program in Master's level. In 2007, Motor Behavior Program and a year later, Sports Management Program and Sports Physiology Program were added to the programs offered at the faculty.
In 2007, preliminary studies for the construction of the new building of the Faculty of Sports Sciences began until October 2013, when one of the largest sports sciences faculties in the country, with an infrastructure of over 6000 square meters began its activities.
In 2013, due to the changes in the titles approved by the Ministry and the hardware and software facilities of the faculty, the number of master's programs was increased to 4 fields and 8 programs as follows: 
Sports Physiology: Physiology of Health and Physical Activity, Applied Physiology, and Nutrition 
Sports Management: Sports Marketing Management, Management of Organizations and Sport Clubs, and Event Management and Sport Tourism
Motor Behavior: Control and Motor Learning
Pathology and Corrective Exercises: Corrective Exercises
At PhD level, the Faculty of Sports Sciences offers fields and 7 programs:
Sports Physiology: Cardiovascular and respiratory physiology, neural and muscular adaptations in sports, Sports metabolism
Sports Management: Sport Management, Sports Marketing and Media, Strategic Management
Motor Behavior: Motor Learning
