Biography

Rastegar Hosseini is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sport Physiology (with a specialization in Sports Nutrition) at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Razi University. He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Education and Sport Sciences from the University of Guilan (2015) and has been a faculty member at Razi University since 2017.

In his doctoral dissertation, he investigated "The Effect of Aerobic Exercise and Vitamin D Supplementation on PPAR-γ Receptor, Insulin Resistance, Lipid Profile, and Visceral Fat in Ovariectomized Rats with Metabolic Syndrome."

Dr. Hosseini achieved first-rank academic standing in all levels of his higher education. His notable honors include being selected as the National Exemplary Student at both the Master's and Ph.D. levels, Outstanding Researcher of the University of Guilan, Distinguished Young Talent in Science and Technology, Young and Outstanding Researcher of the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Razi University, and Outstanding Researcher of Kermanshah Province.

His specialized research and academic fields include:

• Exercise physiology and combined interventions (nutrition and exercise) in metabolic diseases.

• Epidemiology of physical activity.

• The effect of exercise on the gut-brain axis and the immune system.

• Exercise and neuroprotection.
