Biography

Hasan Zolfaghari holds a Bachelor degree in Physical Geography from University of Tabriz. He received both his Master's and PhD degree in Physical Geography-Climatology from University of Tabriz, with the latter being in 2000. He began his official collaboration with Razi University in 1991. He is now an Associate Professor in the department of Geography at the faculty of Humanities.
Dr Zolfaghari has been teaching several courses to undergraduate students such as Climate of Iran, Climate of Earth, Principles of Environment, Microclimatology, Hydroclimatology and Hydrology. Also, the courses he usually teaches to graduate students include Climatology of Health, Climatology and Energy Planning, Climate and Environmental Design, Climatic Relation of Atmosphere and Ocean, and Man, Politics and Climate.
His research interests are Tourism Climatology, Architectural Climatology and other subfields of Applied Climatology
His single-authored and joint papers have been published in prestigious national and international scientific journals.
Dr Zolfaghari was responsible for the establishment of the department of Geography between 1991 to 1993. He has been the Head of the department between 1993 to 1996. He has been active as the Financial and Administrative Vice President of the faculty of Humanities between 2001 to 2005. Furthermore, Dr Zolfaghari has served as the Vice President for Research of the Faculty of Humanities between 2015 to 2020.  He has also been a member of the University's Committees such as Specialized Commission, the University's Selected Committee and many other Councils, including the University's Printing and Publishing Council.
