Biography

Ahmad Gharzi is a B.S. graduate of Biology from Razi University. He also has an M.S. degree of Animal Biology from Tehran University. He received his PhD degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Durham University, England in 1998. He spent his military service in Hakim Sabzevari University as a lecturer between 1992 to 1994. After receiving his PhD in 1998, he was employed at Lorestan University and he was transferred to Razi University in 2014. Dr Gharzi is currently an Associate Professor in Department of Biology in Faculty of Science.
Dr Gharzi has been teaching several courses to undergraduate students such as Histology, Animal Embryology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology Texts, and Human Embryology.
Moreover, the courses he usually teaches to graduate students include Cell and Molecular Mechanism and Development, Organogenesis, Comparative Embryology, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy. Dr. Gharzi has also taught Developmental Evolution to PhD students.
His research interests are Animal Biosystematics, Histology and Reproduction Biology.
His single-authored and joint papers have been published in prestigious national and international scientific journals.
Dr. Gharzi has been the Head of the Department of Biology since 2019.
