Razi University’s 200 step rise in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking - Razi University
Dr. Mostafaei declared that Razi University has undergone a significant rise in Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2024 and is back in the list of credible universities released by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education.
“Recently, the results of World University Rankings 2024 were announced by Times Higher Education,” the Vice President for Research Affairs at Razi University told the Office for Public Relations, “and Razi University had a promotion of 200 steps in comparison with the 2022 ranking. The university is now placed within the 1000-1200 most reputable universities across the world. It is also ranked 8 among the comprehensive universities in Iran. Razi University was ranked 1200+ in the 2022 ranking.”
According to Dr. Mostafaei, Times Higher Education World University Ranking is one of the most reliable ranking systems and began ranking world universities since 2003 based on some performance indicators in five areas including Teaching (with a weight of 29.5%), Research Environment (with a weight of 29%), Research Quality (with a weight of 30%), International Outlook (with a weight of 7.5%), and Industry (with a weight of 4%). Razi University was ranked 815, 1202, 1158, 1637, and 1010 in these five areas respectively.
Winning the 8th position among comprehensive universities in Iran
“An overall number of 73 Iranian universities are registered in the 2024 ranking,” said Dr. Mostafaei. “Out of these, 35 are comprehensive universities. Among these comprehensive universities, Razi University is placed 8th along with nine other universities.”
According to the Vice President of Research Affairs, Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2024 eradicates the concerns of many international applicants, especially those from Iraq, who would like to continue their studies at Razi University. He contended that he sincerely hopes in near future more international students from Iraq show up at Razi University for continuing their studies.
Dr. Mostafaei also expressed his gratitude for the university president’s prime focus on improving Razi University’s ranking in international ranking systems and international domains, and congratulated the big family of Razi University for this remarkable achievement.
