Biography

Dr. Firouz Mojarrad received his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Geography in 1989 from Tabriz University, his Master’s degree in Physical Geography, specializing in Hydroclimatology in 1991 from Tabriz University, and his PhD in Climatology in October 1997 from Tarbiat Modarres University. He began his career in February 1998 as a full‑time faculty member in the Department of Geography at Razi University. From 2003 to 2008, he served as the head of the geography department for five years, and from 2010 to 2017, he served as the deputy for education and graduate studies at the Faculty of Literature and Humanities for seven years.

In his 28 years of service at Razi University, he has taught a wide range of courses at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels in climatology, water resources, and several foundational and interdisciplinary subjects. He has supervised approximately 40 master’s theses and 8 doctoral dissertations.

He has also served as a member of the University-Wide Tenure and Promotion Committee, as well as the Faculty-Level Tenure and Promotion Committee, and several other academic and ministerial councils.
