Biography

Ali Taghizadeh holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Shiraz University and an M.A. in English Language and Literature from Tehran University. He began his official collaboration with Razi University in 1997. He received his PhD in American Studies from Free University of Berlin in 2011. He is now an Assistant Professor in the department of English Language and Literature at the faculty of Humanities.
Dr Taghizadeh has been teaching several courses to undergraduate students such as An Introduction to English Literature, The Practice of Literary Terminology, English Poetry, Short-Story, English Novel, 17th-to 20th-Century Drama, A Survey of English Literature, American Literature, and Literary Schools. Also, the courses he usually teaches to graduate students include Literary Theory, 17th-and 18th-Century Literature, Literature from the Perspective of Linguistics, Modern English Poetry, Long Story, The Tradition of American Literature, Transatlantic Realism and Naturalism, Shakespeare: Plays and Methods of Representation, Liberal Humanism in English Literature: A Critical Approach, Literature and (Post)colonial Theory.

His research interests are Modern and Post-Modern Fiction, Fiction and Cultural Criticism, Literary Theory, Cultural Reproduction in Henry James, and Literature and Power.

His single-authored and joint papers have been published in prestigious national and international scientific journals.
