Biography

Dr. Raad Chegel is a faculty member of the Department of Physics at Razi University, Kermanshah. He received his Ph.D. in Nano-Optics and his M.Sc. in Theoretical Optics from the same institution. He is a theoretical physicist whose research focuses on the electronic, optical and thermal properties of pristine and doped nanostructures. His work explores the influence of doping, external fields and strain on the linear and nonlinear optical responses of two-dimensional materials, carbon nanotubes and nanoribbons. A significant part of his research is devoted to studying the optical and thermal properties of these systems with the aim of identifying novel candidates for optoelectronic and thermoelectric applications. His recent interests include nonlinear optics and its potential in emerging electronic and energy technologies. Much of his scientific activity is based on numerical simulations and theoretical modeling, with extensive experience in programming and computational analysis using MATLAB and Python.

In addition to his research, Dr. Chegel has broad teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has taught courses in Optical Properties of Materials, Advanced Quantum Mechanics, Photonics, Electromagnetism, Numerical Methods and Programming and Statistical Mechanics.
